about Elke
Elke Stappert is a Reiki Master, Marma Therapy practitioner, Ayurvedic Wellness Coach, and founder of yoyoReiki. A New Yorker with close ties to Germany, she brings warmth, curiosity, and a practical approach to her work.
She believes wellness practices should meet us in real life—when we’re calm, when we’re overwhelmed, and when the world is doing what the world does.
Reiki, meditation, Ayurveda, and a healthy dose of humor shape both her own practice and her work with others.
Elke holds an M.A. from NYU and has worked as a language and literacy educator
for many years. She speaks English, German, and bastante Spanish—enough to offer Reiki sessions and workshops bilingually.
Why "yoyo"?
Because everything in life takes energy, patience, and practice. We’re up. We’re down. Regular Reiki and meditation have helped Elke stay grounded through it all.
Elke’s Reiki path wasn’t a straight climb from Reiki I to Reiki Master. After Reiki II, life got busy and she neglected her Reiki practice. When she came back, she took Reiki II again, and this time got swept away in the Reiki stream, continuing all the way through Master Training. The lesson stayed with her: Reiki deepens with experience, not simply by moving from one level to the next. Practice your Reiki.
Her Master training expanded her understanding of Reiki—not only as something
given or received during a session, but as a daily practice, guided by the Five Principles.
yoyoReiki began with Elke’s desire to offer and teach Reiki. A lifelong learner, she later brought Marma Therapy, Ayurveda Wellness Coaching, and Sound Healing into her work—each with its own tradition and place. While these practices can sometimes be combined, Reiki remains at the heart of the yoyo.
