Marma Therapy
What is Ayurvedic Marma Therapy?
Marma Therapy is a traditional Ayurvedic practice that uses gentle touch or pressure on 117 specific energy points throughout the body. Sometimes compared to acupressure, it is used to support relaxation, balance, and the free flow of energy.
What happens during a session?
Your session with Elke starts with a short conversation, then you relax with gentle, focused touch or pressure on specific Marma points. Your body may respond in different ways. Some points feel soothing, others may be a little tender. Unlike massage, Marma Therapy focuses on select individual points rather than muscles.
At yoyoReiki, sessions may also incorporate tuning forks, sound therapy, and essential oils when appropriate or desired. Marma Therapy can be enjoyed on its own or combined with Reiki.

MARMA POINTS
are associated with different areas and functions of the body. Sessions may focus on points traditionally connected with relaxation, digestion, sleep, energy, and emotional balance.
CUSTOM SESSIONS
It's YOUR session. There is no set number of points for a session. The selection, pace, and pressure are tailored to you.
Facial Marma massage can also be a focus, with gentle work intended to release tension and encourage relaxation.
PEACE OUT
Marma Therapy invites the body and mind into deep rest. The goal: to leave feeling calmer, more grounded, and more connected.
How long is a session?
A Marma Therapy session is about 60 minutes, including a little time to talk before and after. Combined Marma and Reiki sessions can be 90 minutes.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the areas receiving treatment. You remain clothed during the session.
